By Car: Approach Ayr from either north or south on the A77 and continue on the bypass until you get to the Whitletts Roundabout – signposts for Ayr Town Centre. As you approach the turn off you will see signs to Ayr racecourse. The course is about a mile from this junction and will be on your left as you approach. Go past the racecourse, through the next set of lights and carry on, on the A719 through the next junction/roundabout on to the main Ayr one way traffic system. You take the left turn at the steeple – easily seen – then continue over the New Bridge, straight on up Sandgate then follow the one way system at the top of Sandgate north (last exit) toward the harbour. You will approach Ayr Academy school on the left – there is a shop on the right and that entrance takes you to Academy Lane and Fouters.
